I would rather know both and then choose which one I would follow.

Ultimately I want the truth. Sometimes we think it is easier to believe a lie that would for a time make you happy- but the truth is what lasts. Truth sets you free. Lies can set a trap and deceive you into thinking that things are ok. I will take the truth anytime. Truth can help you grow as well in the long run.

A lie does not last forever. The truth always comes out sooner or later. I myself would be awful disappointed and hurt, not to mention made to feel like a fool once the truth came out. So, I say ONLY if you are ask, should you give an honest answer. If you are not ask, then you are not obligated to volunteer any information. I for one make it a point not to ask questions. If I'm suppose to know I wouldn't have to ask! Besides, since I expect an honest answer, I might hear something I don't want to hear. If this is a person you are involved with, and you are worried about telling the "Truth" about your past. Just remember one very important thing.... Your past is your past and it's best to keep it that way.

Why would truth make you miserable? Well, true in some situations the truth may be quite unpleasant, but overall the "truth" encompasses many things, like it's true that fresh brewed coffee smells good.
On the other hand, lies are often exposed and then the happiness you had in it is destroyed and you're worse off than if you had known the truth in the first place.

Truth to a Christian only sets them free. It may hurt for a time but will always bring about the best results. Living a lie will never bring true happiness and will eventual catch up one way or another. I will chose Truth.

Living a lie never makes one happy inside, the truth is better which may hurt for a while, but time heals all.

Well,I'd rather hear the truth. Because if I'm told a lie once, and I caught you in it (most people who lie are habitual liers) I'd be miserable not knowing if what you told me anytime after that was the truth.

I would want the truth because if I was that happy I would always wonder if it is a lie.

I would much rather hear the truth, even though sometimes it can be very painful. It's true that we reap what we sow and lying is just plain wrong.
The only exception to this rule might be that if you are trying to spare someones feelings, i.e. like telling a pregnant woman that she looks fat, or something of that nature.

I'd rather know the truth. Miserable I can handle, ignorance I cannot.

Honesty is the most important thing to me. I would be more upset over a lie, and would no longer be able to trust the person who told me that lie. If you know the truth, then you can accept it and move on.
