She has been to a vet and tested for parasites and thyroid. They also ruled out allergies and mange as she is not itchy. Their best guess is she has recurrent flank alepicia (sp?).

It is probably so, very common in racing greyhounds
some are seasonly where they fill in a bit in winter and lose in the summer, I had one with permanent hairloss on her flanks, she was hypothyroid, though with meds her hair never came back in, my current 2 thin out every summer, their thyroid levels are fine
