Mine never are, is it because the girl is doing it wrong or is it because of the way hair grows - ie, I know there is a cycle of growth and falling out, does waxing miss the small hairs just growing. I never seem to be completely smooth and I have soft light hair, which is just as well cos I can get away with small stubble as it is fair. But is my beautician rubbish or what???

Id say so - your legs should be completely bald! waxing should take everything... try another salon.

Hi Helen,

Your legs should be completely bald. But waxing doesn't take out shorter hair, so you better wait two months till your next appointment. This will ensure that your hair grows long enough for the wax to take a good grip on the hair and pull it out. Don't wax that often.

If you think your beautician isn't doing it right, go to someone else! Recommendations from friends are the best way to go.

Also, if waxing isn't working out for you, buy an epilator. It'll take out the smallest hairs really well, but it's a little more painful than waxing.

Good luck!

Your legs will never be completely bald, not unless you've been waxing for about 6months or so,

The hairs grow in three - six stages depending on the person so when she waxes she is only going to remove the top stage of hair and there's another lot either just growing ( the very short hair) or coming through (re-growth) so before your legs will appear to be 'bald' she has to remove all of these layers and get the hair growong together as one layer... if that makes sense?
And whatever you do DO NOT SHAVE BETWEEN WAXES!!! Shaving will undo all the work your doing with waxing and you'll be back to square one instantly! Plus shaving is really bad for your skin, its like slicing off layers of your skin!
Persevere and all will be bald soon!
Im a beauty therapist and teacher at a beauty college so I know what Im talking about!
Hope this helped! x x x

Hi, waxing does not pull off the short hairs. I used to get a threading done after my wax which takes off all stubble. If possible, wait for all the hairs to grow to a certain length and try the wax as it helps to pull off the hairs from the root.

i used to get my legs waxed...but similar to your problem, my legs were never completely bald. you couldn't see any hair, but i could feel bumps on my legs. i tried laser hair removal which is the smae price at some places....80 bucks for legs. this worked really well for me, my legs are super smooth a week after laser when the hair falls out. also it is a little less painful and the hairloss is supposed to be permanent
