Of course swans can walk. They're just very ungainly, like most large waterfowl. They're also excellent flyers.

Swans walk, but now that you mention it, I've only seen it happen twice. They do waddle a little like a duck...but they can run fast, if they want to. (Both times I've seen them walk, the swan was chasing someone in anger.)

Yes, they have their nests on land. We have summer swans and they attack you with their wings if you get to close to them when they are walking on the grass. (Summer swans are swans with they flight feathers removed and they are taken inside for the winter and released into the park pond in the summer.)

Yes, they can walk- and they can run surprisingly fast over short distances, as you may discover if you get to close to one who doesn't particularly want you around! They can be very nasty and aggressive. A swan could actually break your arm with his wing, that's how strong they are.

Yes, they can. I have seen Tundra Swans feeding in fields before. They just tend to swim more.
