on my 2006 w-2 and 1099 it has my maiden name...but i have gotten married (august 2006), and i changed my last name. when i do my taxes do i use my maiden name(that is on my tax return) or my married name?,.,,thanks for the help

It goes by what your social security card says. If you have already changed your name with the Social Security Administration then use your married name, otherwise use your maiden name.

My wife was in the same situation but used her married name and the IRS had problems with it and didn't accept our return at first. Use the name on your social security card until you change your name with social security.

i would use your maiden name and make sure to got to human resources to ensure they have your married name on your tax forms so that this doesnt happen again
