Hi,
I have been there tons of times!!! LOL
The best thing and I swear by it, is a wella home highlight kit, I have put it just on roots, and mine are almost black, and it comes out perfect, and you could also put the cap on and add a few highlights into your hair if you are concerened about the colours matching. It costs £4.50

Really the best thing you could do is go to the salon and have them do color correction by either stripping the color and re-doing it or maybe using a toner. If you use a toner it will "mesh" the colors together though it might be a little orangey for a while. If you're absolutely not going to a pro the wella kits (you can find at places like sally's) work well - but they are bleach, and if you're going to go that way make sure you do not put it directly on your scalp and also either bleach all your hair or add in highlights because your roots will take color much better than the rest of your hair bc they are not color treated already. Keep an eye on it because your natural color will lift quickly and then you'll have white roots and blonde hair! Be careful though because your hair can only take so much color/bleach at once before you fry it.

I have the same problem with my hair, because of the tone of color my hair nautrally is, I can not use certain dye colors, they will result in a ginger color. I go to a professional because of this, although a lot of time it still will end up having an orangy/yellow tone for me. What you should do is give your hair a few days to get strenght back to it, because coloring takes out so much of it. Over these next few days do not use shampoo and conditioner for keeping the color, using moisturizing and stuff like that. Your hair will fade a little, which is good. Then color it a darker shade of blonde, one that don't have any tones of brassy in it at all, not even the slightest. Maybe even try a dark blonde to be safe. My advice to you is go to a pro after this, because I know a lot of times this could be a problem, good luck!

I know bleachin it may sound harsh but if i was u, i wudnt wanna walk around wid funny lookin hair.Best u can do is get a friend to assist u ( so it wud be all even-out ) when ure about to bleach everythin away, then re color with a color that u wud like, pick a color similiar to ur original one so that when it grows out,it wudnt look awkward. But always moisturize it wid a good conditioner & a not-so-harsh shampoo so that ur hair wudnt be too dry from all the bleachin & coloring.Hope u'll get it right this time.Good Luck.

the best thing to do would be to use a bleach to put some colours through your hair, just some strands though - use some meshes

So now you look like you're ginger and trying to dye your hair blonde?

Hm... decolouring probably will only make it worse. How about dying all of your hair orange?
