We have a project to program sockets and it seems that the program it just works on unix or linux but I use windows xp as my os, so how can i program? Do i need a special version of c++ to do it? If yes, please do give me the site where i can download

I have this tutorial from but I tried to run it but it doesn't run on my OS which is Windows XP. Am I just missing somheting or I really need another set of program to run for my OS

I use sockets with C#. You can do it go to http://msdn.microsoft.com to find how to open a socket with your version of c++. You can also try dev c here.

you can program sockets in windows as well
but the difference is the system calls are different
