When I'm studying for each class/lesson, I always make extra detailed notes as a summary i.e. revision notes [or even revision cards: if this helps!]. This saves me time come the revision period as all I have to do is pull these out of every class & use as a basis for my revision.
I also gather all the exam papers & exam Qs I can find and look at it to see if particular topics are in the exam every year & revision solely on these topics (& 1or2 more topics, just in case!) & practise on these questions.
I also look at A-Level revision guides that are available in Bookshops e.g. WHSmiths, I generally flick through these to see if they are helpful or not, if so, I also use this in my revision. {If you can't afford these, try your local library}
I always have my materials with me which I use & work on in the library on my own, where it's generally quiet or if I can, get a group of friends together to go through materials in a group session. Make sure you eat properly too & no late nights: these really done help on exam day! Trust me, I know this!

notes, notes and more notes. Find out what kind of memory you have eg if you have a visual memory make sure you include lots of colour in your notes through highlighting etc
