First off, I have to tell you that sayings and slang vary greatly between different regions of the US. I am from Delaware so my sayings reflect the usage in the Mid-Atlantic States.

"When the cows come home" - old farm saying means a real long time since cows rarely come home once they've wandered off.

"What's good?" - means what's going on / how are you?

"Holla at you" - means I want to call you / hook up (on a date)

"Bangin' / Banger" Something that is REALLY good - usually refering to food, sex or drugs for some reason.

"It ain't over til the fat lady sings" - It's not over yet.

"People in hell want ice water" - You can't always get what you want.

"You're damned if you do and damned if you don't" - You're damned either way!

"Get to the point" - smoke a joint - from the Tom Petty song

"He flew off the handle!" - he got REALLY mad!

I could probably some up with a lot more, but I have work to do!!!

high,

Would you list some of the sayings that need explaining? There are SO many...

"He let the cat out of the bag"...would be a saying to describe someone who failed to keep something under wraps...exposed a secret.

"Just keep it under your hat"
-keep it a secret-

"Head over heels in love"
-totally in love-

"The Final Straw"
-sick of it and cant take any more-

"Leave no Stone Unturned"
-look everywhere, try by all means-

"Long time No See"
-just as it says-

"A little Bird Told Me"
-not revealing the one who spilled the secret-

"My Lips are Sealed"
-not telling anyone-

"Eyes are bigger than my Stomach"
-takes too much food-

"Don't bite off More than You can Chew"
-don't take TOO much responsibility, don't try to do more than you can handle-

Hope this helps!
