I have to get through a boring long ballet recital and a flask would make it immesurably more enjoyable, but I don't want to smell like a boozer afterwards. Is it true that vodka has no odor in your breath?

Just to add, I am fully of age, not an alcoholic and don't lan to drive after this event! I'm just dreading three hours of little kids in tutus and I'm sure a little drink will make me more enthusiastic. :)

It is true that vodka leaves no smell of alcohol. However, my mother drinks like a fish - whatever is available and then eats raw onions to mask the smell, but to me that seems rather antisocial!
I probably should not tell you this, but when she is drinking vodka she puts it into an empty water bottle and it was only when I had stopped drinking and she had a bottle of "water" and I was desparate that I took a slug out of the bottle. Panic! I was really scared and thought that was me back on the slippery slope, but no, thankfully there was no real harm done. JUST KEEP THE BOTTLE AWAY FROM CHILDREN OR RECOVERING ALCOHOLICS!!!

They say vodka has no odor on your breath, but from my experience that's not true. I haven't found ANY alcohol that doesn't leave an odor on your breath, but two liqueurs that may mask the smell by virtue of their flavors are (1) Cinnamon Schnapps, and (2) Butterscotch Schnapps. PLEASE do me a favor and don't attempt to drive after this ballet recital if you do any drinking -- it's not worth putting yourself and others at risk.

On eating it - VODKA On respiration it out - all of them scent a similar, as quickly as the preliminary scent of the alcohol has long previous. The scent on the breath a on a similar time as after eating isn't the alcohol, it particularly is the byproducts of the physique metabolising the alcohol, it it is not significant what you drank, it smells a similar.

Yes, vodka does not smell on your breathe. Atleast not that much.
This is why Vodka is the choice of alcoholics. It doesn't smell and the hangovers aren't that bad.

In high school, I had a friend that would mix in vodka with her pop and sip on it all day while at work...mind you she was an alcoholic and dipped into some recreational drugs on the side.
