I like this guy.
We are best friends. Really.
But when I talk to him about
having a relationship; he gets speechless.
I mean, he says he loves being friends; but he talks to me
with respect; and makes me happy when I am down.
Does he really like me and is just trying to hide it?

If you've talked to him seriously about having a relationship and he didn't act on it. I'd say he doesn't want one. He said he loves being friends than he probably only wants friendship. May be in time his feelings will change but for now I'd say leave it alone. You don't want to make him feel uncomfortable around you. If you push the issue . You run the risk of losing a friend and never having a relationship. Enjoy your friendship and hope for the best. Keep being a good friend and maybe one day it can be more. Good luck!

Maybe he doesnt feel the same, maybe he does. The only way your ever going to know exactly how he feels is if you just ask him, But if you ask him there is a very good chance that things will never be the same between you. Eventually it could even ruin your friendship. But there is also a good chance that he is feeling and thinking the very same thing, and he might also be worried about ruining your friendship if things go badly or dont work out. I would tell him how you feel, especially if hes all you think about. But think really hard about how you really feel before you say anything at all to him, because this will definately change your friendship.

It is hard to say without knowing more details. It is possible that he really cares for you, but is afraid that he can't give you the kind of love and mature relationship that he thinks you deserve. My best friend is a woman and there are times we are like that too.

He likes you as a person and a friend. Bringing up something more serious is clearly making him uncomfortable and he seems to not want to hurt your feelings. He knows how you feel. If he doesn't make any moves (like going on a date and courting you, for lack of a better word), then he does not see you as girlfriend material. Stop bringing it up if you want to keep him as a friend.

there are only two possibilities...either he likes you but is afraid of ruining a good friendship( if this is the case then you should tell him your feelings and go for it) or he is not interested(in this case it would be better to just let it go and be friends)....find out which is the case...

well he may like u as a friend only. but is good u told him how u feel and if he respected that is even better. sometimes we like to have u as friends better

i think he like you, give gives you half of his heart but...
inside he may have some1 else also..?
he don't want you talk bout relationship could be because he is hurt from some1 before or he is waiting and see how you are and how you going on with him...
