The doctrine of the Trinity is the result of continuous exploration by the church of the biblical data, thrashed out in debate and treatises, eventually formulated at the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD in a way they believe is consistent with the biblical witness, and further refined in later councils and writings.
The Britannica Encyclopedia's Trinity article states: "Neither the word Trinity nor the explicit doctrine appears in the New Testament, nor did Jesus and his followers intend to contradict the Shema in the Old Testament: “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord” (Deuteronomy 6:4)."
It is an invention of early Christian church fathers, such as Tertullian.
The scriptural support for the doctrine is implicit at best.
The scripture contradicts the doctrine, such as when Jesus states that the Father is greater than he is.
It is paradoxical and therefore not in line with reason.
It reflects the influence of pagan religions, some of which have divine triads of their own.
It does not follow the strict monotheism found in Judaism and the Old Testament, of which Jesus claimed to have fulfilled.
The doctrine relies almost entirely on non-Biblical terminology.

The Trinity supports one God.
Being ignorant only means you are uninformed.
If you believe there are 3 Gods, you are uninformed.

Yes, I know a lot of people think that. You're not ignorant, you just haven't been taught the same as other people. I've been taught that God is made up of three parts, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and each part is different but equally a part of God. It's a little more complicated, but here is my example. A man can be a father, a son, and a husband; each part is different and has a different relationship to different people, but each part is equally a part of the man as a whole. You're not ignorant, you've just been taught differently. I know not everyone believes the same as me, but I really believe what I believe and it would be difficult for someone to change me. I hope that helps, thanks for reading, God bless you.

Many people don't understand that. It's hard for many Christians to undstand so they repeat what they've been taught. Look at it like this, although I have one body I am three people. I'm a mother, woman, and wife. Each is identified by a specific set of actions and thoughts but I am still only one being.
That's very similar to what we see in God. He is a father, son, and helper. Each is accorded a specific set of actions. It's alittle simplistic I know but it does help to understand the concept.

I can understand why you say that. Most polytheistic religions had/have a pantheon or trio of gods. The last time I checked the Trinity was not in the bible. That was an attempt by man to justify the obvious references in the bible to plural gods. The references are understandable when you realize that the bible is a re-creation of many ancient stories that originated with the Sumerians and Babylonians, (see their ancient writings). They were passed on verbally by other cultures for thousands of years before modifying them to suit their cultures beliefs (like the new belief in one god), and writing them down again in the bible texts.

According to Genesis God created man in his image. He formed a 1) body from the elements of the earth, breathed into his 2) spirit, and it became a living 3) soul. Three parts that form a single being.
Each operated in a different realm. The body in the physical realm, subjected to the laws of physics, etc. The soul in the mental/emotional realm. The spirit in the spiritual/heavenly realm. Each is just as much "you" as any of the others. If one of the three was absent, "you" would not be able to function.
So God also operates in all three realms. In the heavenly realm he is called "The Father". In the physical realm he is called "The Son Jesus Chrsit". In the soul/heart realm he is called "The Holy Spirit". Each is a manifestation of the one being God in a different realm. Each is just as much "God" as any of the others.
Because man is made of three parts (body, soul and spirit) it takes a three-fold God to be able to work in each of the realm that man exist in.

one God, three personalities, God the father, God the son and God the Holy spirit. To me its sort of like say your dad, he is one man yet he is a father, husband, son, he is all three of these yet he is one man. as a father he acts a certain way, as a husband he acts a certain way and as a son he acts a certain way. Three different personalities one man, and he probably has more than three
