The Smith & Wesson M&P has so far proven to be a very well built and durable pistol. The M&P's low slide mounting takes away just about all the muzzle flip during recoil, making follow-up shots quick and on-target. The gun comes with 3 palm swells so you can change the back of the grip to fit your hand. The double action trigger is..decent..for a double action only pistol, and the 3-dot combat sights line up well for most (changing the palm swell to fit will help). I thought it was a solid feeling pistol.

I'd say its worth getting the M&P - its a quality gun, and if it ever needs factory servicing it will go to Springfield MA rather than Germany.

Get the MP9 or MP40. They are more versatile and replacement/additional parts (if nec.) are easy and cheap to get because they are polymer. The M2 is an oddball.
