In 2000 over 277 million portions of chips were sold throughout the UK. This equates to 760989 portions a day. The top two sources back up this figure.

More interesting Chip Trivia, the record for the "Most Portions of Chips Eaten Simultaneously" was 1,000 people eating 1,000 portions of oven chips.

If you get the money, can I have a share? Or at least a bag of chips!

According to the National Federation of Fish Friers, 500,000 tonnes of chips are sold a year, that is 1,370 tonnes a day. That is a lot of chips. Yummy.
