I don't. Think would be very strange if I just gave someone a fixed stare as I spoke. Generally I look from eye to eye to mouth, or to subject if I'm talking about something physical. Humans' eyes flick over different body parts depending on their conversation or interest in the person they are speaking with, for example; a man either flirting or attracted to the woman he is talking to will let his gaze follow an inverted triangle trail; breast to breast to mouth/eyes, although (straight) women tend to spend more time fixed on the mouth.

Neither one. Concentrate on the center of their nose, between their eyes, that way it looks like they have your full attention, without drawing into one eye or the other.

Apparently, you're supposed to focus on the forehead between the eyes. That way you are looking at people without appearing cross-eyed or flicking from one eye to another.

For some unknown reason, I tend to veer toward the right, thus looking at their left eye.
Of course, that depends on whether I am looking at them front on.
It's impossible to look directly at both eyes at once.

The middle one......JK....I don't always look in the eyes...usually look at the mouth..for some reason.
