I ´m going throught a long distance relatioship and have been reading a lot about it in the web. I would like to know which could be the best way of communicating? I found some interesting articles about new technologies here: loveandculture.net.
What do you think? Is it better for you to use telephone, chat, letters, camera? I need advice.

Phone is best for avoiding miscommunications that do happen via email (I'm in an LDR too, and we have issues when we only use email). Email, chat, photos, etc. are ADD-ONS to actual voice communication. You will find that there are less misunderstandings when you can speak to each other, hear the tone of the words said, and immediately diffuse anything that may have been misunderstood, but it's fun to use the other methods in addition to phone. I should know. We only have email right now, and we've had one arguement and misunderstanding per week since that's all we've been using! UGH!

If you really like/love each other it should be natural desire to use all possible ways of having contact - e-mail everyday, phone (as much as you can afford), sms, postal letters and meeting of course as often as you can... Starting with e-mail, it will grow and one day it will become just not enough (after all it's only virtual connection), you'll start to talk on the phone and it at once makes you closer because it is something real. It is nothing to plan here, heart will tell both of you what to do and how much!:)

For real, nothing beats a phone call. E-mail if you can't call, bu try to make the e-mail mean something, you know what I'm saying? Don't just type 3 lines and say "I love you". I'm in one of those relationships, haven't heard from my girl in quite some time now :( You just have to make sure you communicate as often as possible. Chatting works too, provided both of you have no other distractions.

i think depending on how far away this person is from you that you should use the phone. I dont know about you but I always feel better when I hear their voice. Although letters are fun too. Its up to you.. hope whatever you choose works for you.

TALK EVERYDAY. i tried to have a long distance relationship with someone who didnt think it was necessary to talk every day-- because he thought it would make our feelings stronger. I'm here to tell you that it only makes those feelings fade away.. and a mess is somehow created in the silence.

If the relationship is worth it to you.. make the extra effort to get in touch.

Telephone is always good because you can hear the tone of peoples voices. It can get a little pricy though.
