She does not need to go away to straighten things out. You need to be together and talk. She knows how bad it hurts you, and yet she's still going? What's up with that? She's totally not taking your feelings into consideration. I don't want to make you feel bad, but it sounds like she doesn't care at all about this marriage. Do you have any children, and what do they think about all of this?
I think it's so important that you both involve God in your lives. Give all your problems to Him and let Him straighten it out. It's really the only way out. Love, kindness, patience, trust, understanding, compassion, and communication are the main things that both of you should have toward one another. If you don't go to church, then find one. My wife and I and both my girls go every week. We have christian friends who help us stay on track. Pray and read your bible. I wish you well.

I would ask her why this "trip" must be made with a man? Why not a woman? You have a reason not to trust. I am a Christian and I also am an adult Sunday School teacher. This just does not sound right and you can tell her I said so! I can tell you that I have never ever heard of a man and married woman taking a trip together for spirtual reasons!

You can't trust your wife because she has given you no reason to think she can be trusted. I would say that, rather than running off for the weekend with another man to 'set things straight', she needs to be discussing with you ways in which you can both work to make your marriage a success. In my opinion, marriage counseling is in order.
My apologies for being blunt.

Here's my spiritual words of wisdom that you asked for - she's lying to you. When she says things will get better when she returns, she means once she divorces you after her 'enlightening' weekend with another man.
I wouldn't let my wife do that. Who wears the pants in your house?

There could be a slim chance what your wife is telling you is true....but....chances are not.... sounds more like one last fling. She should be asking you to help her with self awareness ect not some one else. Your already part of the way there to doing something about your marriage, just keep you eyes open and good luck!

First, why are you posting this here?
Second, the marriage is over. Understand that and act accordingly.
Use this weekend away from her to look for a new apartment.
