The meaning of this is just lost on me. I don't feel any need to make a sacrifice for my sins. I have a conscience, know right for wrong and don't commit crimes in my society.

If I felt I had to apoligise and make up for something I'd do it. I don't feel any need to pray for forgiveness.

Then you obviously aren't a Christian. You have faith that your God is a just God and will punish/reward you fairly. Christianity is about peace of mind -- they need reassurance that they will fare well in the afterlife (just in case there is one).

Good question.

Compare the law of God to the laws of man.

Why do you have to pay a parking ticket?
Because if you don't you will go to jail.

It is a minor infraction and you may never break any other law murder, rape, robbery, etc... You may be a model citizen and volunteer your time to all kinds of civic organizations.
But, you will still go to jail, because the law is not supposed to show favoritism. That is part of what makes it a "just system", it wouldn't be fair if some people got by with breaking the law and others didn't.

We know that "God is no respecter of persons". He also has set up laws that don't allow for one person to get by with an infraction, no matter how small, and another to be punished.

You feel like you haven't done anything really bad and you are basically a good person, but have you:
Lied
Acted deceitfully
Lusted wrongly(not spouse)
Hated (same as murder according to New Testament)
Gossipped (grouped with murderers in Revelation)
Disobeyed parents
Said bad things behind people's back(backbiting and slander)

If so, you have sinned and need forgiveness, but nothing you can do can pay for it. Because when you committed these acts it brought death to your spirit, that is why a sacrifice of death is required. The physical death of the sacrifice symbolizes the spiritual death that happens when we sin. In the Old Testament it was rams, bulls and other things, but in the New Testament it is God made man, the perfect sacrifice, a one time thing.

Christ's death symbolizes the penalty of sin - spiritual death.
Christ's resurrection symbolizes our new life - spiritual life.

Without the resurrection the death is useless.

Adam and Eve were perfect right? They sinned (basically telling God that they don't need him and that they can know good and evil by themselves). God had said earlier that if they eat the fruit they will certainly die, and he couldn't take it back. However the first prophecy in the Bible says that the Messiah will come and prove to God that a human Can do the will of God. No one on earth could do this except a perfect human (perfect blood for perfect blood). Jesus showed God that we humans can live under his law, and thus saved us from sin because now we all have the hope of ressurection. So we were sold into sin and death by Adam but reclaimed by Jesus. His blood paid the ransom.

Well Christians say that Jesus died for their for their sins well there was no need for a person to die for their sins when God was already forgiving sins, if you read Leviticus 16 you find the following verses:

And he is to take the two goats and put them before the Lord at the door of the Tent of meeting.
And Aaron will make selection from the two goats by the decision of the Lord, one goat for the Lord and one for Azazel.
And the goat which is marked out for the Lord, let Aaron give for a sin-offering.
But the goat for Azazel is to be placed living before the Lord, for the taking away of sin, that it may be sent away for Azazel into the waste land. (Leviticus 16:7-10)

So for everyday sin there was no need for God sent a "son" or come himself as a man, you know I get confused with the trinity however you want to see it.

Then some say that everybody is born in sin becuase of the original sin commited by Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Again the bible itself disporves this:

The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. (Ezekiel 18:20)

Besides if God was to come himself to die, do you not think of it as an empty gesture, that he is still alive and well? Would it not make more sense that if one was to repent and ask for forgiveness and just try to lead a good life that God to just forgive him?

By saying Jesus died for your sins you make the Father look blood thirsty and the son a hero who is willing to die for guilty people.

Or if you go by the Bible

"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46)

This makes it look like Jesus had no choice or Idea that he was dieing for the sins of the whole of mankind. Which makes the rest of the Trinity look blood thirsty and unjust again.

You are assuming that you got here by accident, and that you don't need salvation. Christians don't believe that's the case. They believe that God created the world (based on what they see in the world and by the person and work of Jesus Christ). Jesus told us that He was sent into the world to rectify the situation that happened in Genesis 3. God's Holy standard is absolute perfection. So if you have every made a "mistake" by telling a lie, thinking a less than perfect thought, or by denying God's existence (like you are doing above) you have "missed the mark of perfection" which is the meaning of the word "sin" (hamartia) in Greek.
That lack of perfection needs to be fixed...so Christ died for that lack of perfection. Since God is the maker of the world..it is God, not us, that gets to make the rules.
If its God's world, and His rules, then it's His decision who needs to be saved...not yours. If He decides that Jesus is the only way to heaven, and that they only way to get there is to acknowledge Him and God (and not self) and to accept His free gift, which it is...then to not do so will leave you condemned already (John 3:16-21) and you will miss the boat on salvation. Now if you are right, and the truth is that you don't need to be saved nothing lost for you or those who have acknowledged God. But if the opposite is true and you NEED salvation based on what God has said, they you lose. The consequences of that choice (to not acknowledge that God is and that He is sovereign) is a special place where there is not God. That means no love (for HE is love) no grace (because you will have forsaken that), no light (for He is light) and constant burning with no quenching (Jesus talked more about hell than He did about heaven). That place is Hell. Your choice. So, it's a gamble, you're either right or wrong...I choose to believe...it's a one in two bet. If I am wrong I lose nothing...If I am right, I gain everything. What are your odds? Do you think that's a safe bet? There's only one truth....

Then don't. You shouldn't have to participate anything that you don't believe in. As a Christian, I believe in God, and that He created us. He gave us a set of rules to live by, and when we broke the rules, we had to atone for our sins through sacrifice and prayer. He gave us chance after chance, but we could never get it right. Because He loves us, He sent the ultimate sacrifice for us - His Son. Jesus died so we could live forever with God, and not be seperated from Him by sin. Everyone knows right from wrong, not just you. And, everyone sins, just like me. Christians don't claim to be perfect, just forgiven, as we were promised that if we confessed our sins and were truly sorry, we would be forgiven. I don't understand why so many people consider that a crutch. If you don't see any need to atone for your sins, than don't. I do, because I'm grateful to God for giving me life, and I'm sorry when I do bad things. It's that simple.

Sahara, this is the biblical meaning of Jesus' death. First of all, you're looking at the question from a human point of view. In God's view, we have no redemption whatsoever because we are already corrupted of sin. The final outcome of sin is death, the eternal kind. So what Christ did was give his life for us so that we may have another chance. In other words, He died in our stead, and by doing so, cheated death. Remember that Christ is without sin, so He is not worthy of death.

With all our hypocrisy, do you really think God can trust us at our word? Say someone commits a small crime, goes before the king, says they are sorry, is permitted to live, and yet they go out and commit a major crime. God just saying, "I forgive you" means nothing because we would not change because it took us nothing to gain his mercy. If God just forgave us every time we sinned, then we could freely sin and God would be forced to forgive us each time. In other words we would not be cleansed or obeying his Word, we would be merely abusing his amazing Grace and using that freedom as a license for immorality.

We need to be cleaned from the inside out, and in order to do that our sins need to be washed. All our righteousness is pathetic in the sight of God, we cannot "impress" him into forgiving us. So since we cannot cleanse ourselves because our righteousness is not sufficient, we need his righteousness to support us. But he work righteousness through us until we are washed in the first place, that would be like trying to clean rags off by soaking them in dirty water. Our blood is corrupt and not worthy of sanctification, so it is the priceless blood of Christ that washes us and renews us. His blood atones for ours, like changing the water in the sink from dirty to clean. Then, since we are cleansed, if God does not work righteousness through us we will quickly become dirty again. We need to keep him close to us to ensure that we do not get soiled by mud.

Hopefully you can see through the symbols.

You Dont need it, but Jesus CHOSE to do it for all human kind. He knew we needed a savior, and we needed a leader in this cruel world, He knew we couldnt live our life alone and that sin is all around us. He wanted us to have eternal life in heaven, so He chose to die for our sins! What an amazing father and Lord.
The bible says to confess with your mouth the sins of your body. Basically confess to the Lord you have sinned, and He will forgive.

You don't 'need' someone to die for your sins, Jesus already did. It's up to YOU to confess your sins, and if you choose not to then YOU live with the consequences. If someone does not believe in our Lord, then explain to yourself how the world was created. How did this spinning ball we call the earth just exist? I choose to live and love the Lord, and know where I am going.
