God is not "condamned" (learn to spell) to live in the form of a spirit. He chooses to do that because it allows him access to higher and more powerful realms then just the physical.
When he wanted to become a physical being, he did such as the man Jesus Christ. When he had accomplished what he wanted to do he not longer needed to appear in physical form.
Rather he now "appears" in the physical through his followers. They have become his body in the earth.

Saying God is spirit is giving God a form, no matter where you look at it from.
Spirits are things that move in and out of things and can evaporate etc. and have specific "supernatural" characteristics.
Its nothing but a foolish and vain attempt to explain Gods presence.
Why people even FEEL the need to do this, is beyond me.
God is here, and is always watching you.
He knows what you feel, think, eat and do.
Isnt that enough?

You assumption is false.
John 4:24 - God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
