I felt I had to reply to this question because of the ridiculous statement from BOB M up there. I can't speak for all British women but I can speak for a few and we all agree, we love the American accent. The vitriol BOB M is spouting is insulting not only to the British, but to the Americans as well.
Why on earth would he say such things? Is he a man spurned?

whats with the UK women questions today - this is a room for UK and IRELAND!!! and to answer your question - even though Im Irish - no I hate the american accent. You guys drawl to much and it irritates the hell out of me.

I have to say that everyone is different. Unfortunately it isn't possible to answer for everyonein the UK!
I personally am not particularly fond of the American accent, but it wouldn't stop me making friends with someone (or more) from the US, I am not that shallow.
I know people who love it, hate it or are indifferent. It depends who you ask!

Sorry but the american accent is like a cheese grater on my brain. It does my head in!! Every second word is "like" and loud its very hard to listen to. No offence intended here but i feel very strongly x x x

No. British women tend to hate Americans. You should hear them complain about America and Americans: how stupid they are, what an evil, violent country it is. They even encourage their men to attack and abuse Americans on the tube etc. Brits are not very nice to Americans when they come to their country. You can read stories about this on the BBC website.
