why toast ? Can't you throw him a few crackers ? (he's not serious, folks....just a joke !)

What kind of person are you that you would want money from a freind for a simple piece of toast?! If that is your thinking then he should also be able to charge you for helping you take your mom on walks. And no toast is not a fair trade.

Why would you charge him for a service he is apparently willing to offer for no cost. I suspect you are yanking some chains but in case you aren't my answer is give him the toast and jelly free>

I thought he's your friend? Just a piece of toast, and you are calculating? Even if you want to calculate, in exchange for his time, you still don't think the piece of toast is worth it? How cheap!

elderley care homes are expensive. I reckon toast and jam is a cheap payment for time spent walking with your mum
