Why no mention of marijuana in the bible. God created it too and there's no mention of it. The bible covers the basics. Good evil. God created everything and in the end you're either with Him or not.

How could Moses know how the world was created when we still do not know today with all of our scientific knowledge, which Moses did not have. Remember that when Columbus sailed west and discovered America, the people at his times thought the world was flat and that Columbus would fall of the planet. This observation was based on the Bible.
The authors of the Bible wrote from what knowledge and experiences that was familiar to them.
The Bible is not a science book. It is a book of faith telling us about people's relationship with God.

Research the Nephilim. Very intersting.
Basing your entire theory of an ancient document without researching the possibilities of its factuality is just as ignorant as not considering why one believes what they hold true.
Problem isn't so much about whether or not you believe Moses' account is fictional or factual.
If a person has no understanding of Moses and have not studied the possibilities of his writing, they can't pass judgement on his work.
Besides, carbon dating is flawed. Geologists base the age of rocks on the evidence of fossils. Archeologists base the age of fossils on the age of rock they're found in. Horrid circle, isn't it.
Just want to add: I don't know why I put thought into these answers, as some people will give thumbs down simply because it conflicts with their wonderful answers ("Thay can't write stupid...") and points of view. A person can have a good answer that conflicts with another's point of view. I think half of questioners don't want to hear different points of view or really answer a questions, but want only mindless 'amen'ers who agree with their own. Makes one wonder who's close-minded at times.

A) Moses didn't write Genesis.
B) Genesis is NOT a biological, historical, geographical treatise. It is the Hebrews affirmation that there is only one true God and He created everything that is seen and unseen, known and unknown.
C) GET A GRIP, PEOPLE! The Bible is NOT a science book!!!!!

Because the Bible and old testament are steadfast that God, in all his splendor, created everything. That being said, the bible stated that God created man in his own image.
The theory of evolution does not exist in the bible. Neanderthals were one of the phases of our evolution...but don't say that too loud in church! LOL

How do you know "Neanderthals" weren't just another tribe of human being? People come in many different shapes and sizes, from the tiny Pygmies and "Hobbits" (not the Tolkien kind, it's another tribe in the Indian Ocean) of the African Continent and Indian Ocean, to the Inuit People of North America, to the suuuuper tall people of Europe. Human beings come in all different sizes, shapes, and colors. Isn't it kind of arrogant to say of one type of human "this isn't a person, this is a subspecies"?
Are they categorized because of their clothing? If so, does that make a Hell's Angel (lots of leather and hair) a different species from, say, Paris Hilton (no leather, not much hair)?
The classification of "Neanderthal" is itself just a construct, and a modern one at that. I believe all that evolutionary bunk (different "species" of human) is fiction!
We are all meant to be one.

The correct answer:
Because the people who wrote the Bible didn't know about Neanderthals.
These questions are easy to answer if you're willing to accept the truth.
