Mothers' Day isn't really about 'things'; it's about taking time out to spend with your Mum and making her feel special. This doesn't necessarily mean expensive presents - just being there with her and perhaps some flowers and/or chocs, plus a nice card, really is sufficient. The bigger presents can be given at birthdays and at Christmas. I wish I could see my children this Mothers' Day, but they're 2,000 miles away. ADD : Did like the idea someone gave re a family photo. Another idea would be a tree or rose bush that you could actually plant in the garden for her on Mothers' Day; that would be so special to her and would give her long-term pleasure.

here is an idea. if you have any pictures of your self and if you have any siblings make a collage for her or a tiny scrap book may tkae some of your time but it will be treasured. put some of your memories and luv for her into it and surprise her with it at dinner that woudl be a wonderful gift. trips holidays and pics of just the goofy times you have had with her (and your family if you have siblings). nothing means more than something made to a mom who has everything or even try and see if you could buy her a star... that would be neat as well!! just someting heartfelt and meaningfull. nothing flashy or over the top. and if you get her a vaca. pkg make it mother daughter time for bonding.
hope the ideas help some ;}

I don't think Mom's can ever get tired of flowers / nice flowering plants even if they have everything but you could always get her tickets to go to the theatre, a concert or just about anything that she has always wanted to visit or do. How about a day's pampering at a spa or beauty salon. You know your Mom's interests better than anyone, so just try to think of what would bring a smile to her face.

What about paying for her to have a manicure in a posh salon, or a facial or even a back and shoulder massage?My daughter paid for me to have an evening at a clinic where i had a massage and used the sauna and spa pool and it was WONDERFUL!Much better than a box of chocs!

1. A really good bath gift set with candles to go with it.
2. make a scrap book with all your old family pictures,cards, and things with sentimental value
3. A gift voucher - spa or even a weekend gateway
4. Arrange a nice supprise dinner for her
5. Have a girls day out (this is only if you both can find time)..go for a movie, get your nails done, go shopping etc...and get other female family memebrs to join in (if you have any sisters etc)

How about a large picture frame with a collage of photos of the family.
Or how about a trip to London to the theatre, The sound of musice or mary poppins.

just a simple hug, seconds of kiss and sweet words like saying "thank you for being the best" (for sure you haven't done that) Mothers day isn't about giving the most expensive gifts and giving her everything she want, Mother's day is about thanking them and making them feel appreciated from all the sacrifices they did and for giving us more than what we need and want in life... (for a change!) this would be the best gift ever for any mother in the world.

I'm trying to get tickets to see a Musical at a local theatre for my mom's gift. She is impossible to buy for. But this is a gift I know she will love. Plus it's not another knickknack for her to dust! (She hates knickknacks)
