If you are trying to choose go with the ChE. degree. As a Chemical Engineer you can work in the oil industry or chemical industry. Even though a Petroleum Engineer makes more money, your options are limited to the Petroleum Industry.

Depends on what you want to do. If you want to work in the oil industry, then Petroleum Engineering is going to be better. If you want more flexibility, then Chemical Engineering would be better.

good day! genius (this is a compliment). i'm a graduate in Chemical Engineering and so a techniques as i recognize, you will desire to think of in accordance on your country statistics. I recommend, no count if its a petroleum-products or -uncooked-ingredients wealthy country or the case else-sensible. yet a chemical engineer is in a position to be conscious in all production industries no count if or not they're universal or petroleum & gas based. So, this is greater useful to flow with chemical engineering maximum frequently. And in case you pick to do petroleum engineering and have pursuits in it, i think of you will desire to attempt for distinction in this, and by using distinction I recommend skillful via petroleum engineering awareness plus a precise score of GPA on your classification. choose sensibly as you like and in no way be apologetic approximately your determination.(:-) good success!

I can say first ask your self if you truly love engineering course (whichever area) in your heart. You see i am in engineering field and i find it not enjoyable. No one told me. I have seen scholars or those on top of the class and it did not guarantee them a walk in the park kind of jobs. Visualize the work environment, the noise of machines, the heat also and stress. If you are visualizing working in the office and doing designs/ plannings/automations as an engineer, then you must be very good. Otherwise, you have to accept that you may also be a field operator taking commands. That is not enjoyable.

hi,
go for the petroleum engg. as it is less crowded, more specialised and your chances of landing a decent job will be better than if you choose chemical engg. which covers more wider areas but then latter you will feel a need to get a specialised knowledge in a specific sector. Why waste time latter ?
