while you might think about Thai, very little Thai food is truely vegetarian. when in Thailand i go to indian restaurants for vegetarian. most Thai "vegetarian" dishes are made with fish sauce, or oyster sauce, sometimes ground up fish and or shrimp. good luck and have some fun exploring new cuisines. most decent sized cities have ethnic grocers or some other outlet for many things you don't find at the local supermarket. community food coops are a good source.
