Im organising an art exhibition in London, and have to buy alcohol for the opening night. What would be the best route to go down? Im looking at wholesalers such as macro, or even a booze cruise to calais.

The Calais route is illegal for you as the wine you bring back is supposed to be for your personal consumption although the chances of getting caught are minimal but you won't be able to use the receipts to offset your expenses. Unless you are buying a LOT then a Calais trip is probably not worthwhile given the crossing cost plus petrol - unless you want a day out of course. Better to go to Makro and you have a nice receipt to show the taxman.

I think the best option is for a quick jaunt to Calais, there will be more choice and competitive prices.
