it makes the eyeball change shape, a friend of mine, he actually pulls the sides of his eyes to make tiny slits ( he is sooooo shortsighted) and it works, he explained to me it is something about the flattening the eyeball or something! good question though..

Squinting closes the eye which decreases the area the eyeball feels it needs to report to the brain. When there is less of an area to see, the eyeball naturally concentrates on what it can see making the smaller area sharper. Blinking then squinting helps too as the eyeball has to focus faster.

LOL if poor sighted people walked round with their eyes wide open instead of squinting it wud look a bit scary! It wud freak the hell outta me any way!

It's because your reducing the amount of light intake on your eyes, and your body does it automaticly so your eyes won'tadjust too fast to brighter light.

Being a computer geek who definitely wears glasses, lol, I would have to say it's to focus on the object being looked at.

no its like using the auto-focus, yes its bad for your eyes, but not every one can get glasses made for themselves right away.

seems like it............but for some people it works.........would be easier to get glasses though
