Hi UK builder here, well Ive lost count of the amount of kitchen units we have fit, well IKEA they are good well built a bit pricey and not so easy to fit. A little plain but for those who want something a little different.
B&Q as stated earlier they have come a long way, the carcases of the units are thicker, and more durable than MFI ( who are HOWDENS a lot cheaper ) for the same product. B&Qs runners are better at no extra cost and all the extras like plinth, work top are all reasonably priced. (unlike MFI who rip you off totaly )
Wickes also are good but the range is small and some what dated. All the other DIY centers are the same no real range or after sales service. And so after all that ( sorry ) but for a DIYer B&Q can not be beat, on price, range, service and for the price PRODUCT. Good luck.

I would go for B&Q. The cabinets are very good quality and they will come to your house and design your kitchen for you, free of charge. It's all computer generated and you can see exactly what the finished kitchen will look like. The cabinets were easy to assemble and fitted brilliantly.... they even allowed for the fact that our walls weren't straight!!
I've used them twice and the second time I paid for installation as I was by myself and their fitters were well worth the extra money. Good luck and enjoy your new kitchen where ever you buy it from.

B+Q 100%. I`ve fitted every flat pack kitchen going and all previous references are true. Best value, sturdy and above all "almost" anyone who can read and has a little patience can build them. My wife ( non-DIY er) put a unit together using their guide sheet, then did the next without even looking at the sheet! I offered her a job there and then!!!
Good Luck, and, no I don`t work for B+Q.

I'm looking to fit a new kitchen at the moment as well. I was quite impressed with the kitchens at Ikea.

Agrre that B&Q are more than adequate for quality/choice price, but their "design service" is a joke.
Try designing your own layout from there/ Ikea/ magnet/ www.kitchendraw.com or get the squared paper out.

!! you cant go wrong with B&Q they are loads better than the early years , strong , sturdy, good fittings, and you can mix and match the finishes ::::::: the instructions are clear and set out well ::::::: but like everthing they must be constructed and fitted by an capable person ???
