how much in weight is one cup in cooking?

1 cup is equal to 8 ounces by volume. If you are measuring a liquid it would be half of a pint which is 16 ounces. But, like everyone else has said, the weight would depend on whats in the cup.

you need to tell us what is in the cup. A cup of popcorn won't weight nothing compared to a cup of lets say peanut butter
