Okay, you guys. I was homeschooled this year, but something went wrong with the internet program I was using to do my homeschooling and I wasn't able to complete the rest of the year since the program no longer worked.

One of my subjects was Bible Study, which I absolutely hated because it made me doubt God, so my mom just said not to do Bible, before the program broke, which made be drastically unknown to this subject.

So, we're doing final testing for the school year and they sent me the letter saying they'll be doing a Bible Pretest before the casual subjects (As in Math, Language, ect.).

I have never read the bible, and I'm jewish, whist I was homeschooled through the Christian acadomy we have here.

I have no clue what the questions will be since I don't know squat about religion and absolutely hate it!

What kind of questions do you think will be on there that I should think over and such?

P.S. I'm in 8th grade. :[

Thanks a lot for any advice that can be spared!!

Some of you are wondering why I went to a christian school if I'm not.

Well, it's quite simple really. Public school wasn't an option for my social status at the time and all we had here were Christian hosts. Pretty sucky? Yes.

Oh my, you're in a bit of trouble! Have you read the Tanakh? If so, you should be ok with that part.

As for what Christians call the New Testament, I'm puzzled why they insist on testing you for this -- didn't they give your parents a way to exempt you from it? I guess not. I don't think anyone should be forced to read the NT; it should be voluntary.

My suggestion is that you concentrate on two areas: the "Sermon on the Mount," which starts at Matthew 5 and runs through Matthew 7. These are generally thought to comprise the central doctrines of the New Covenant, which we believe Jesus brought, in fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:31-34.

Then, read the Gospel of John. You will notice this Gospel presents Jesus as being God incarnate into human flesh. Christians believe Jesus performed certain miracles among the Jews that were reserved for God only, such as the healing of lepers. (Moses and Miriam were temporarily given leperous lesions, which God healed; Naaman is not in this category, since he was a gentile.)

Then, read the "nativity story" given at Matthew 1 and Luke 1-2 (which also includes the story of John the Baptist's birth).

This is alot of information to absorb, but I think these sources will give you the major points an 8th grader would be expected to know. I don't anticipate they would expect you to understand advanced concepts, such as substitutionary death, etc.

If you have any questions, please send me a message through YA and I'll be happy to help you.

Sit down in a quite place and read the 4 Gospels of the New Testament. Christ referred to the Old Testament quite a lot when he was being being questioned by the *religious leaders* before they crucified Him. He always said, "have you not read" or "it is written" and "you have the Prophets". Just because you are a Jew as you put it does not mean that you cannot read it. Jews know how to read also. There was always the Public Library to use for the Internet for the schooling, why did you not use that? Your mother should have been educated enough in Gods Word to teach you about God without having to use the Internet. The 4 Gospels and the book of Acts will give you just about everything that you will need, and you may also learn something, and besides that as being in the 8th grade, you have a lot to learn about Christ, AND life.

Questions will probably be on
> basic christian doctrine
> key figures and events in the bible
> how the seperate books of the bible were selected

I wonder if anyone will make a (spurious) link between your mum telling you not to do bible study and your program not working. I bet yes...

i wouldn't worry so much about the Bible pre test so much. and you most likely know more than you think that you do.the Old Testament of the Bible is also the history of the Jewish Books, i don't think you have anything to worry about.

Oh...crap...
They never made me do that. Hmmm....
Look at Christian web sites and information sites. Perhaps learning abit more about the religion might just help you.
Try to read up on summaries of the major stories as well,so that you can try to answer the questions.
Good luck sweetie.

Judging from a few of your comments here, I'm guessing that thinking for yourself isn't a problem, so here's what you do: Skip the whole bible pretest. Don't do it. Tell them you don't want that particular option IN your educational packet. If they don't like it, tell them to shove it, lol, and thank them for their kind understanding. If they get mad, tell them to turn the other cheek, and remind them that the meek will inherit the earth, yada yada yada.....

I can't believe they are forcing it down your throat this way. Let me just tell you. The bible, Jesus all of it is very moving and interesting when you can take it in in your own stride. I hope you believe and are saved. If so, just pray God will give you all the answers you need. God bless!

You shouldn't worry about this, because NO one knows what the questions might be.
You need to trust in God, He will pull you through this.
