because of millions of reasons that i can keep writing about for months and publish books.. if you are a muslim and you're happy i wont offend you.. but for right now, i have no religion and i barely believe in god. I believe in nothing but science and logic.
my question is am i considered an apostate, liberal, or what should i call myself?

i was a %100 firm believer due to the fact that i was born in a muslim country, but growing up i realized how false it is based on scientific and logical explanations.
"money, looking good for someone, saving their own neck in times of war etc. " that was not my reason, im not that stupid.

"Read it with meanings and open mind. you will forget this filthy worldly logic or ever changing scientific discoveries." if it werent for the logical calculations and hard work and scientific discoveries of other human beings we'd still be living in a jungle. With no buildings, no hospitals, no cure for disease, no education, nothing. Does islam teach you to say such demeaning things?

We do not have a choice when we are born. However, later when we grow up and if we are blessed with reason and logic THEN we have a choice. It is very unfortunate that you only saw perverted immage of things in your life that made you turn away from your religion. However, if you are that apostatic, or liberal or athiestic or whatever you choose to call yourself, why are you so bothered about what would people call you? Maybe if you ARE bothered, it means you do care and worry aobut it. In this case, the links forwarded by one of the answerers are pretty good to check out.
Another thing that I am surprised to read is that you found lack of reason and logic in Islam!! Islam is "notorious" for being a religion which is too much based on reason and logic to the extent that it surprises the reader by questioning his very intelligence if he is a nonbeliever. Maybe you have not had the opportunity of reading through Quran.
I belong to a preofession that relies on reason and logic alone and is lame without science. And many of my professional skills I have leanred from Islam specially how to apply reason and logic to deduce results.

I'm sure it took some time to learn the Truth about Islam. Why not use this knowledge to teach others? Maybe you like to call yourself an Agnostic as you are not totally rejecting the presents of God.

there are two types of approaches. One is a concordance approach - Which means a person tries to bring compatibility between the Scripture and science. And the other is the conflict approach, in which a person tries to bring a conflict between Scripture and science. But as far as the Qur’an is concerned, irrespective whether a person uses a conflicting approach, or a concordance approach – As long as you are logical, and after a logical explanation is given to you, not a single person will be able to prove a single Verse of the Qur’an, in conflict with established modern science, Against Humanity or Contradicting.

You may be called a fool. Science does not claim to be a perfect knowledge. It's limit is the limit of your observation which changes with the change in the power of your observation. Where as Quran is the perfect knowledge about all types of science. Read it with meanings and open mind. you will forget this filthy worldly logic or ever changing scientific discoveries.

From the point of the Quran, if you were a complete believer and later changed your mind, youre an apostate.
Apostates are people who change their religion based on things like: money, looking good for someone, saving their own neck in times of war etc.
They deserve to be shunned.
If you were never really a firm believer and had doubts and then left islam. You were never really Muslim to begin with and that is not our problem.
Edit: A person does not become a %100 believer based on the family or culture theyre born in. They become %100 believers based on their own search of God.
This is why in Islamic teaching, Angel scribes do not begin to write down good or bad deeds until youve reached the age of reasoning i.e. puberty. Because up until that moment, youre a child, and do not fully comprehend the importance of religion.

Why feel the need to label yourself at all. If Islam hasn't given you anything to be proud of, it's a good thing you've turned your back on it now. G'luck for the future.
