The pimple, may have been more from bacteria clogging your pore.. and less an allergic reaction. If the dogs water dish is plasitc, or isn't washed daily (or every couple of days) bacteria tends to thrive, which can cause YOU to break out when the bacteria is passed to your skin. It will even cause your dog or cat to break out.. usually seen as little black spots on their chin or muzzle.

Yes it is possible. A girl I worked with in a rural setting years ago had her staffy b*tch with her and she had to be careful about her dog licking her. If it was on her hand or leg or somewhere like that she just got a mild lumpy rash. If it was on her face or inside of elbows or back of knees (sensitive areas) she had to have cortisone cream and another medicated cream because the rash could be that bad it looked like the dog had licked her skin off. It just meant she had to be really strict about no licking, and lots of training.

I have a pitbull that likes to lick constantly. When she licks my face, I break out in a rash that drives me crazy itching, so yes...I believe its possible to be allergic to your dog's saliva.

Some people swear by putting garlic powder on everything your dog eats will cut down the proteins and lower your risk of getting hives, swelling and itching. It MUST be garlic powder though, not any other form of garlic.

One of my dogs makes me itch and even rash a bit where she licks...so, yes, I believe it could cause the swelling or itching, but shouldn't have anything to do with a pimple.. A pimple is caused from a plugged sebaceous gland..has nothing to do with allergic reaction.
