with my knowledge of European and American DVDs, I am 100% sure that this will work.
ALL of Europe is known as REGION 2 on Dvds. These operate on the PAL system TVs across WESTERN EUROPE.
Just to be sure, look on the UK box of the DVD for the symbol "Region 2" a little earth globe with a 2 in it. Or the words, "playable in all regions". Usually you see this on really CHEAP Dvds. Or, look for the letters PAL.

The problems begin when you buy a DVD on one continent, and take it to another continent. US to UK, India to Brazil, etc.

Don't worry...you will be fine.

PS: If you buy a radio in New York and try to use it in London, the electrical voltage will be different, as well as the frequency of British radio wave lengths. You could hear some stations, but not all.
