Whenever I sit for a period of time, my tailbone and one leg go numb. Is this sciatica?

No this is not sciatica though it is a nerve problem . The best thing is to consult a doctor.

no,

if you sit on your leg, it is how you block the circulation, they need oxygen to circulate. when you block the ciculation, it will release numb. it means part where is sleepy

if you get up and let your leg out, then circulation will restart to flow the blood with oxygen again
