Just as u would maintain any length of hair. Cause the hair grow from the scalp and u need to nourish it, lubricate it & keep it clean always.
Use good quality of shampoo and oil and brush them with a comb --- preferable broad toothed --- & then use a hairbrush if u so wish.
Trim them often, to avoid split ends. & no harsh treatments or rubberbands or steel clips pls.
Gd luck !!!!!

Use natural bristles brush and wooden combs. Never use when hair is wet.
Don't wash too much- twice/week is good. Use a pH balanced shampoo, I use an organic (chemical-free) shampoo from Australia.
Use conditioner once a week, keep on for 10 minutes and wash away.
Use deep-conditioner every second week: mix your conditioner with oil such as jojoba or olive, heat the conditioner over a bowl with steaming water, and rub into dry hair. Keep on for one hour, wear a shower cap, sit in sun or use hot towel. Wash.
Always final rinse with a litre of cold water, with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, this will get rid of last shampoo, and protect your hair. Cold water is terrible I know but this will seal the hair shaft.
Don't put anything into your hair. I use professional hair pins bought at a hair salon which doesn't break my hair. Metal clips and barrettes are bad news- they break and tear, and so do some elastics.
Eat healthy- especially Vit B and proteien.
Protect against sun by wearing hat/bandanna.
Don't use styling products- I use an organic hair gel with no chemicals in it, so natural you can eat it. Alcohol and horrible chemicals swim in most styling products and will damage your hair and body.
Braid you hair loosely and tie before bedtime, also cover you cushion with a big piece of satin. This will protect hair against breakage and friction when you toss and turn at night.

My hair care is cheap but very natural and it shows. My hair is so soft and my hairdresser complements me every time. Cut it every second month, but if you take care of it that won't be necessary and you can go longer without trimming the ends.

I have quite long hair, approximately 7 inches below my shoulders. I find the best way to keep it looking healthy is to wash it as little as possible. The natural oils will help to nourish it and keep it looking shiney. They will also help it grow as drying out your hair with shampoo will slow it down. I find using hot oil treatments help to repair my hair after straightening or abuse from the hairdryer. I do this sort of treatment at least every fortnight. I use Lee Statford's growth treatment between my shampoo and conditioner to help keep my hair at a steady growth rate and add nutrients to the ends that dry out the quickest. I would recommend a good quality hairbrush, remember never brush wet hair, always comb and never comb dry hair always brush. My favorite brush is the denman large paddle brush which is so gentle and efficient. Invest in good quality shampoo and conditioner. High street brands contain the same ingredients as washing up liquid ...YUCK! Finally, use gentle hairgrips and hairbands and not one with evil metal bits in them. This will break you hair and leave it looking damaged. Regular trims and a healthy diet will also keep your hair looking its best.
