I am looking for a room for hire with a piano in London... I am an amateur pianist, and would love to find an (affordable) place to hire now and then for an hour to play the piano. Thank you.

Hiring practice rooms in London can be very expensive, and you will find that with the kind of money you'll spend over time, you might be better off buying a second-hand (upright) piano, with, perhaps, a smaller keyboard.

Consider this option seriously. If you can afford it, and have the space in your home, I'd suggest get your own piano.

Some churches have rooms in which they hold choir practice (with a piano) - they may help.Or as has been suggested, try the music and instrument stores. their pianos are meant to be played anyway and what better way for them to be heard and demonstrated.

Write or call the cultural attache to the nearest Royal British Consulate General. They will have contacts that could open doors for you like no other and could find you what you need.

The cheapest place in London to practice piano is my soundproof rehearsal room in Shepherds Bush. It's in a non- residential building so you can play your heart out and no one can hear you. !
