People tell me that I'm too dependent on my friends or my whoever I'm seeing at the moment, etc. But is it really that terrible? Does it make me a bad person or give me a annoying character trait? What is the big deal about dependence?

My friend, you need to understand that in THIS life everybody is ALONE. In certain times, your friends will help you but no one is going to takecare of you better than YOURSELF. Dependence is the game of weak. If you can control your own horse than you will lead it but if you can't someone will lead it for you.

It depends on whom you become dependent on (no pun intended). It can be annoying to some people when they feel smothered by you. Other types of people prefer this closer kind of relationship. The way you are is neither good nor bad but you have to monitor the way you behave with people that you can't simply expect to accomodate your personality.

The bad thing about being dependent is that those you depend on can let you down badly. But if you pick your friends wisely then you can have the closest relationships.

People have to learn to stand on their own two feet. It is part of growing up and becoming an adult. People that are too dependant on others have a hard time coping in the "real world" and have a hard time holding down jobs because they expect their boss and/or co-workers to help them all the time.

The big deal is that one day these people may not be around to help you. You may have to make an important decision all alone and you will have had no experience.

The big deal about dependence is when you fell bad about it. That's it. Ask yourself that question. Do you feel bad about it ? No ? Stay yourself, we like you that way.
