i battle with insomnia and acid reflux.what is best to eat at night when i get home after 8pm from a hard working day in a warehouse picking and packing. i do feel very hungry and do not want to eat a big meal as i go to bed before 9.30pm due to feeling totally knackered. i eat 3 to 4 different fruits during my brew breaks and drink v8 juice(a mixture of 5 veggies) for breakfast i eat toast and egg with coffee. or muesli, yogurt, and coffee or tea. at night i need to eat something light or none at all as i know to eat 3to 4 hours before bedtime is ideal....i get home at 8.15pm. i go to bed to sleep at 9pm-or 9.30pm. i wake at various times at night due to pains in arms, hands, shoulders due to picking and packing job that is hard work for a 55 yr old woman with menopause as well...i am not complaining. i just want to sleep better and eat healthy.

Eat some kind of lean protein. Cook up some extra chicken breasts before you head off to work and make a chicken salad sandwhich (Chicken salad will last for 3-4 days in the fridge) with light or fat-free mayo on whole grain bread along with a small green salad or some soup, or if you have a crock-pot (Slow cooker) put a nice homemade soup in it and turn it on low so it is done when you get home.

Increase your daily protein intake.
Also look at taking supplements such as glucosomine and other joint/muscle repairing nutrients (zinc, magnesium, iron, etc.,)
Make sure your B vits are high as you are so active.
If you can try to take a protein drink with you to work, (one with carbs in it also).
You can get it in a dry powder and mix with either water or milk when you finish work so you already have some nutrients in your body.
Make your lunch breaks a hearty meal of fiborous carbs and protein. Your breakfasts sound great, keep that up.
At night, when you get home eat a little cottage cheese and salad or slightly raw veg (not overcooked).
It is REALLY important that you start supplementing and taking more minerals and protein on board, as you are very physical in your job. Also add some good fats to your diet, mixed nuts are great and an easy snack during your brew breaks. (don't go overboard with them though)
I hope you start to sleep a little easier.

Well this is going to sound horrible but I think she's cheating on you! I can see a once and a while going over to a friend house leaving at 8 coming home at 1 would be normal but if this is going on all the time somethings not right. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 7 years and we are thinking about marriage alot lately and even through the years I do not see him allowing that to go on more then once in a while. usually we all get together and us girls drink our wine int he kitchen or sitting room and the guys watch the game in the living room. But you knwo us girls do have set girls night that start right when we get outta work we start off the night with dinner at our fav resturant then we go home get ready and hit the clubs (yes we are still young as well) but all of out men have set times for us to come home and thats usually 1-145 the latest! but us girls also allow a boys night with the same time frame! so i think you need to talk to ur girl and figure out whats going on let he rknow its bothering you and try to do what we do! good luck!

try eating more high fiber food during the day they will fill you up longer and eat food with minimal water content before bed so you don't have to use the washroom at night your soreness and insomnia could also be to menopause try a natural Hormone replacement therapy and see if that helps try dry toast before bed that always works for me!

I really like both fruits and fresh vegetables better, regardless how they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

Please try the following:

Eat only when hungry and that too not more than three times a day. No solids of liquids other than water in between. Please include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fresh fruits in ur diet.

Please chew each morsel of food 32 times. This activates ur body system to monitor ur food intake.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day. These changes in ur routine will enable u to achieve ur ideal weight in a reasonable time.
