"Our two minds .... One is an act of the emotional
mind, the other of the rational mind. In a very real
sense we have two minds, one that thinks and one that
feels" (Daniel Goleman, Emotional Intelligence,
Bloomsbury Publishing, London, 1996, page 8). This
rational mind is also called the faculty of logic and
reason. The emotional mind is sub-conscious and
the rational mind is conscious.

The Upanishads say that the emotional mind searches
for something in what is generally accepted as bad,
and rational mind searches for something bad in what
is generally accepted as good. These two are of opposite
nature. Using the rational and logical mind to differenciate
between good and bad persons appears to be very
reasonable. But, logical mind has its own limitations:

In the 1930s, Austrian mathematician Godel proved a
theorem which became the "Godel theorem" in cognition
theory. It states that any formalized 'logical' system
in principle cannot be complete in itself. It means
that a statement can always be found that can be
neither disproved nor proved using the means of that
particular system. To discuss about such a statement,
one must go beyond that very logic system; otherwise
nothing but a vicious circle will result. Psychologist
say that any experience is contingent - it's opposite
is logically possible and hence should not be treated
as contradictory.

Good and Bad! Or in different words, Rightfulness and wrongfulness.

Well, rightfulness is plain and wrongfulness is plain, and in between there is a shady grayish area. Therefore do not beat around the bush, otherwise you will fall into it.

When the area is grayish, a feeling wavers; goes back and forth in our chests. So wherever your gut feelings take you, that is the rightfulness though people may advise you to the contrary.

Trust your instinct. Many people nowadays deny the obvious and argue saying right and wrong are relative. They depend on the situation, etc. NO! I am positive that you know what is plainly right and what is plainly wrong. What is confusing is the gray area in between.

I hope you the best!

A good person is the one who:

o does not try to differntiate between good and bad
o ignores others' faults as much as possible
o considers his/her own faults substantial and trys to correct them
o does not draw borderlines between people on the basis of good and bad deeds as a good person may have one or more very bad habbits/attributes and vice verca

A bad person is the opposite to what was described above.

Good and bad are not so absolute as you would probably like to believe. What do you want, name tags? "Hi, My name is Bob, and I'm evil"? For me, there's probably equal amounts of people out there who will tell you that I'm a good person as will tell you I'm a bad person. I am loyal, and loving towards the people that treat me well, but cold and sometimes downright spiteful to those who don't. Does that make me good? Bad? Average? What? Good and evil are relative.

It is difficult to differentiate on appearances, but we have to look for his actions, and the fruits of his actions speaks for itself. This is the correct way to differentiate a good person or a bad person. Do not get carried away by appearance, conversation or words, they may be misleading.

Good persons are only those, who believe in seeking the help of a spiritual guide for understanding good from bad.

I can not tell you what is good or bad, nor can any body tell you that from amongst us. And till the time we know that we all are only bad!

Wife: No. Do not express. Eat what is cooked. I can not cook for all. You harrass me. You are bad. You are rakshash.
