Why does it really matter? An engagement ring is a symbol. A symbol of love and promise between you and your fiance. It doesn't matter how big it is, how much you paid for it, if it's clear or if the cut is right. What matters is that when you give her the ring, she really is the only girl that you want to spend the rest of your life with.

2carats is bit larger than usual for most guys to buy. but you could have gotten a big diamond but the color, cut, or clarity is bad ...which is usually the tradeoff for a bigger diamond and less money. My engagement ring is 2 carats too but the center diamond is 1 and the other smaller ones around it make up to the other 1carat. CONGRATS!!! I hope she likes the ring!

It's quite big if it's a solitaire.. if it has several smaller stones making up the 2 carats.. well.. it's still pretty big!

If she doesn't like it, I'll take it :)

Congrats on the engagement!

2 carats is big! (depending on the size of her hands anyway.)
Good for you! Congrats!

2 carats is big, but not necessarily worth anything. You could get a 5 carat with bad color, cut and clarity and spend $1000. It might be worth $100...It's all about clarity, carat weight, cut and color.
