Milk thistle will help your body repair itself after a hard night of drinking bt the effects aren't so immediate as to really help prevent a hangover.

I used to take a pill called RU-21 which is essentially b vitamins and glucose, both of which your body loses during drinking. It was pretty effective especially combined with a few glasses of water. It is available in the UK but not sure where else...

Before trying that I highly recommend just drinking two large glasses of water in combination with a b- complex vitamin. I don't know what the pill "chaser" is but I would put money on that it has b vitamins in it.
when you drink alcohol one it's effects on the brain is that it inhibits it's ability to absorb this vitamin.
but I would say the main feeling you're having when you have a hang over is dehydration.

It works pretty well. Chaser is basically just Milk Thistle, which you can buy at any health food store. Milk Thistle helps your liver process toxins. The fewer residual toxins in your body after a night of drinking, the better you feel.

Eat food before you start drinking, and always stay well hydrated.
When you are drinking more that one casual drink, like a night out drinking, then alternate drinking water between alcohol.
Most of the time, this will be enough to stave off a hangover.
Good luck
