I agree that the chemo is alot easier for you if you get a port.

When i went through chemo i started out with getting a treatment every 3 weeks, i had 4 of these treatments, then i went to getting a treatment every week for 12 weeks.

The chemo will depend on alot of things, like what stage the cancer is, if there are any lymph nodes involved and how many, if it is estrogen and/or progesterone positive, if it is her2 positive.

With my first round of treatments, i lost my hair, experienced some nausea, but they give you pre meds for that and you can even get other meds to take at home if you ask, my white blood count got low, you get very tired, but you can still do things, just don't get to wore down.

With the 2nd round of treatments that i had once a week i wasn't sick at all with them, but my white blood count stayed low, i was still very tired, they made my body ache, and caused weight gain....but my hair started growing back while taking this round of treatments.

To be truthful with you, i was tired from the chemo, but i think i was more tired from the radiation treatments that i had, it also makes your white blood count low, i had 33 treatments, which i had to go 5 days a week for.

Most of all i think alot of it depends of how you face the fact that you have cancer. If you go at it with a "I can beat this" addittude, then you will win!

If you would like to talk i would be happy to talk to you and help you in any way that i can, feel free to e mail me. I will give you all the little tips that got me through.....I will pray for you.....good luck

My experience.
I first had 30 days of radiation every day. They tatoo you so that they can get the exact area. Did not burn as I put loads of cornflower on the area - and NOTHING else.
Chemo - I had every 3 weeks. They give you lots of anti nausea drugs, so afterwards it makes you feel very sleepy.
My hair fell out after the second treatment. I did not get any usual symptoms of chemo - sores in the mouth etc. I continued to live a completely normal life during my treatment, even playing 9 holes of golf once a week. I had 6 months of chemo - the last one was a bit bad, but then we had family from overseas staying and my blood count was a bit low. My big toenails fell off. Afterwards you go for x rays etc every 3 months for a year and then every 6 mths. etc. It is really not as bad as people make out, but then everyone reacts differantly. Good luck - there is life out there.Be positive.
The chemo I had was called the Red Devil as I had an aggressive type cancer. You sit in a comfortable room on a drip and it usually takes 2 hours.

My mother had Chemo. Her hair never fell out. The nurse told her that some peoples hair never falls out and other people go bald really quick. My mother hated it cause it made her sicker than a dog. She later had to do radiation. She said the side effects where a lot better than Chemo. But every person is different.

we do not understand the reason. If we did, we may manage to stay away from it and deal with it more suitable positive. indications are uncommon. I had a red rash modern-day from the tumor causing tissue adjustments. The lump became quite large yet my record in no way detected it. No concerns inspite of the truth that; it truly is totally treatable, effective now.
