I'm just curious, because no one ever says anything, but I'm pretty sure everyone notices.

Depends on how the scars look. But I would think they are either a cutter or a drug addict.
I knew a kid who had scars on his legs but they were uniform scars. Doctors had taken skin from his legs to graft onto his 3rd degree burns. But it was obvious from seeing his scars that they were not self inflicted.

My reaction would change depending on how new and fresh the scars looked. If they looked old and faded then I wouldn't be too worried about them, as it would appear that they had stopped cutting. If they were red and raw then I would be worried for them.

You can always cover up this sort of thing with wristbands, gummy bracelets and normal bracelets. Try finding a picture of Alexi Laiho without his gummy bracelets and so on on. Now you know why ;)

it really depends on what they look like. if the scars are straight gash lines i would think they're a cutter. but you can usually tell whether something is self inflicted or either a skin disease or something to that effect. the reason people dont bring it up is because they dont want to be rude. if you are a cutter, you should seek help, dont be so mean to yourself, love yourself.

... Don't know why everyone is saying drug addict. Heroin i guess?
The scars might not be as noticeable as you think. My boyfriend is an ex-cutter and I didn't notice them until about a month after we met. If you want to get rid of them, I hear coco butter works wonders.

Well.. I think they must be cutters, they must have some serious issues, poor them and then I wish them peace and comfort. Thats about it! Oh and if they're fat I wonder if thats the reason.

i think they might be cutting themselves to release emotions. i dunno why. lots of cases on this on teenagers in my country. some people think it is cool or are under peer pressure. either that or you are looking at a retired stuntman or a hero who rescued a child from a burning building.
