It's not about the dog not being able to learn new tricks. The emphasis here is on you not being smart enough to teach the dog something he doesn't already know. So when you tell someone. "You cannot teach an old dog new tricks." You are in effect telling that person. "Don't teach me anything, I know more than you."

lets make it clear okay,. the first things you should bear in your mind is that teaching of young animals should take place only during the time that they still manifest something or the intelligence which they want to develope., as they grow old they actually find it very difficult for them to be thought some strokes they find very bad nor good and actually those are the situations wherein they already found they selves very fund of doing other things more than they want to so if you find the solution not quite working you are free to send me your feedback/s or either futher questions

I asked my dog and she said she's tired of doing tricks. That was in the past and she doesn't want to bark about it.
