I just started learning at a language school near Asok BTS. Absolutely FABULOUS school - 60 hours in a month for only 5,500 baht plus 200 baht for the book - so less than 100 baht per hour. I've been in Thailand for 4 years, and I've learnt more Thai in the 5 days I've been at this school than in the previous 4 years. In fact, I can already hold pretty decent conversations in Thai with taxi drivers - LOL.
The only drawback is that it's 3 hours every day (Monday thru Friday) for a month - but well worth it. The great thing is there is only me and one other person in my class, so the individual attention is amazing and the Thai teacher is unbelievably good (I'm also a teacher and she's better than I will ever be - LOL). In fact, the largest class in the school only has 4 people in it, so you're not stuck in a huge class with the teacher having no idea if what you're saying is correct. The school is also extremely professional - in a very nice office building, with beautiful classrooms etc.
You can study from a) 9am to 12pm, b) 1pm to 4pm or c) 3 hours in the evening - sorry, can't remember what times?
The school is at:

Hope that helps?

check the bkk post, check with any language school in your area - if for nothing else, just to get the proper rate... my guess would be 2-300 baht per hour, depending upon whether or how far the person has to travel to get to the lessons.. I live upcountry and people work for 120 baht per day.. but that is manual labor.. someone with good English skills might want something around the above price.. 500 baht for a 2 hr session would sound fair.. good luck..

Hi
May I know what is your objective of Learning Thai Language?
For common conversation or business level that you can communicate well with Thai people. Or for what?
And how long do you expect to achieved your goal?
I will say that if you are not required too faster than 1 year.
I can teach you by e mail correspondence and sitting talk sometime if available.
I have my kid which I also want her to learn English. But I don’t have enough money to send her school for international class.
So, what a deal? You learn Thai with our family, and we learn English from you. ^_^ he he

There are schools all over that have a range of fees. I have seen some for as much as 20K baht for an immersion course to 2800 baht for 20 hours.
As was mentioned, be sure the instructor has superb command of the language before committing.

In every employment office everywhere, there's posters posted up with the minimum wage up. If you are in a sit down restaurant setting, it may be less. However, if it's like a fast food, then i highly doubt that he's playing the rules. If it's a franchise, that maybe one way he's been flying under the radar. But you call the number that's on the federal minimum wage poster and report him if you feel that he's done you wrong. You never know until you try, and who knows, if he is wrong, then he'll have to compensate every dollar back to you. But call them and see what's the deal. If he's in the wrong, file a complaint.

Find someone who want to practice their english and learn Thai from them. I think, this way, you don't have to pay any money.
