I keep trying to make my ex understand how he hurt me by neglecting me and yelling at me and ignoring me during our relationship. I keep trying to explain to him that he made me feel unimportant and all he can do is keep telling me that I'm being cruel. He told me that he thinks I hate him and I told him that I dont hate him, but in fact it's because I love him that I get so upset and that I'm so hurt. I poured my heart out to him trying to make him understand how I feel and all he says is "wow"
That's it?

Darlin, I hate to tell you this but you are totally blowing it by "pouring your heart out" to a man. It's a total and complete relationship death to do this.
This is too cramped a place to explain the psychology of dating however I can say that because he is your "ex" why not just move on? Why continue to rehash old hurts and old news?
I think that perhaps what you seek is some kind of realization and then validation on his part. Something like
"Oh, my God! I get it now, honey. I'm so sorry. How could I have done those things to you? If only I had understood what I was doing to you. If only I could change the past somehow. I can now see why things didn't work out between us. I was so blind, so wrong. Can you ever forgive me?"
Now seriously, would this not be something you crave? Honestly?
Well, it won't happen. No matter what you say or do and if you are hoping for more, like reconciliation with an even bigger epiphany - well, the prognosis is even worse.
You just can't be needy and desperate and emotional and hurt and expect to hold onto a guy. It's just not what they're lookin for.

He says that because he needs to make some response or he'll get slapped in the face.
He probably tuned out 5 seconds into your diatribe.
Write out a summary (use bullet points) keeping just the important information. Ask to speak to him again, keep to the point, and go through your summary. Keep it short enough and he may have the stamina to listen.

at least he said WOW! in my case he didnt say a thing and i was so stupid to even think he could realize his mistakes or even understand me! when it comes to the point in a relationship that men want to get free, no matter what you do or say, they wont change! their mind and heart are closed! that's how cruel they are! that's their problem! they are so mean when they dont love you anymore!

that's why his response is "Wow" because he has nothing else better to say, like he has no feelings (that jerk)

he is an insensitive jerk. the problem is you. he is already your ex, you say. why bother? it is obvious he is not worthy of your love, so why not move on, get on with your life without him and find someone who can appreciate your presence more? you deserve better than this dude,girl. think about it. you don't have to be miserable.

you should ask him how he feels now. he may be speechless because he is surprised to learn the truth. so the real question is, what does he feel after learning all this? ask him directly, and see what he says. it's either he wants to date you still, or is already over with you.

I think you should say, "Wow, That's all you can say, Wow!"
If he says wow, or another dumb response, just forget about him. He clearly dosn't desrve you.
