I thought Christians were not allowed to have sex before they marry. Why do some Christians do it, then?

Just because an act isn't technically "allowed" by some entity doesn't mean that act doesn't,or can't happen. In other words, prohibition is not identical to impossibility. The powers that be may say that a person "can't" have sex before s/he marries, but the truth is, s/he can - the ability to fornicate is always there. One need only another warm body. Whether one's moral compass and conscience guide one into such action is a completely different issue.

The funny thing about your question, and Christianity in general, is that a lot of people call themselves "Christian" but haven't the faintest idea about what exactly that entails.

There are many Christians who act like atheists and many atheists who act like saints.

Kinda makes you say, "hmm," hmm?

For the same reason that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God = we are human. That does not justify sinful actions. I'm just saying that who knows where that person is in their christian walk. They may be struggling with this particular sin and are still weak. Hopefully soon they will be strengthened by God in asking thru prayer and make changes. OR they may be a professing christian in name only. EVERYONE fits into 1 of 3 categories: True believer, Nonbeliever or professing believer who sits on the fence, not choosing which master to follow (God or satan who is prince of the air). Whether they are a true believer or a professing believer? God knows. This is why we should not lump all christians together when speaking about them.

The Bible instructs not to have sex outside marriage. But I'm concerned by your question. Because you know someone who claims they are a Christian and has had sex, you assume ALL Christians do? Some people follow the law of God, some do not. Some are weak and fall, and some are just plain hypocrites. NOT all Christians.

1. Some are not born again Christians (born again Christians have a personal relationship with Jesus. Others are just brought up in Christian homes but have no personal relationship with Jesus and are just as unbelievers.)

2. We are human and become tempted. We should not swear or gossip either, but we do that too! We are saved by grace.

3. Some Christians dont put God first in their lives and put their partners first.

It's a choice that some of us make. The thing is that we know that we are wrong for it, but we do the same things anyone else does.

Don't ever allow someone to tell you that there is anything different about a Christian other than they believe God. Other wise a Christian is just like anyone else.

Christian are followers of Christ. In our times many religion pretend as a Christian. It is already written in the bible that many false preachers and leaders of religion using Christ and they will mislead the people including the believers.

I believe that before we give ourselves over to the Faith, we are very vulnerable, and being a new christian, its very diffcult to simply "obey" You have to join the winning team, and see for yourself.
A mature seasoned christian can withstand thru faith and the Word the sin that presses on his mind and flesh. Its not good to point finger in a accusatory manner to the human aspect of Christianity, being outside the faith it can be percieved that one is making mockery of the failures of a christian, and that my friend, is enough to make any God angry.
