We voluntarily chose to be individual spirits in human form and to see what we could experience as seperate souls. We know that when we leave this human form, we will return to the beginning. We will re-unite as one again.

Why is this concept faulty?

It's not faulty except in the beginning there was one that subdivided its self to appear is all of us, and we created the earth and the drama that our lives would contain.?

It isn't - except that you used the plural to refer to something that is, properly speaking, singular - all souls without any difference in perspective are one consciousness, ie, God.
