This has happened to me ALL THE TIME.
It STILL happens to me. My boyfriend gets annoyed when he's trying to explain something sometimes and I don't get it. OH WELL. He's just going to have to deal with it.
Usually I find myself PRETENDING to get the joke. Sometimes I am caught and they say, "You don't really get it, do you?" LOL.
Don't be embarrassed. Just laugh about it.
Ya gotta laugh at yourself too ya know.
Have that sense of humor. ; )
Don't let it bother you.

happens to me all the time, i guess half the time i don't listen properly. Yeah i feel a bit stupid but then i just laugh at myself for being so silly and not understanding it. If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at.

not often. i usually get the jokes they throw at me but when it happens, i just let it pass. so what if i was slow in getting the joke? maybe he did not say it well, hahaha.
