Have you witnessed a long lasting IR marriage? Does it exist?

I have a friend who her parents is a IR couple ( Arab man & white female). After 32 years of marriage the wife walked out on her man due to sudden financial struggle.

From what i have witnessed in my environment( close family friends, personal friends co-workers), interracial couples composed of 2 non-white people seemed to be more long lasting.

I can't help but wonder if IR marriages really do work. Have you ever witnessed an interracial marriage that lasted a very very long time, as in until death they are separated by death? Or the marriage lasted and they are old with grand kids and great grand kids?

You maybe the environment you are in reflected that but bottom line, its the people involved, how many marriage of the same color or race last anyway....the rate of divorce is sky rocketing....and I am not sure why...

I think the marriage will suffer some if the background is so different but at least they will be focused on something else rather than, he cheated on me and slept with my best friend...and I am not sure if he is the father of my kid...etc...what are question filling this website...and the couples are all the same race....

Think about it..? 32 years of marriage is very very good...not too many people get there, the separation must be for a very valid reason...not too many people realize after that long that their partner is a different color.

Well the stats for lasting marriages are very low as is. I don't think that because the couple is interracial that it makes a difference. I know of a few ir couples that have stood the test of time. I think it has more to do with individuals

I believe the reason for this is because the progressive, "do your own thing" that's going on in the western world hasn't completely (yet) taken over other countries. Males and females still cling to traditional roles. In many countries, females don't have an option but must stay with their husband because that is their livelihood. It used to be that way here in the U.S.A. As our country becomes more secularized and abandons traditional religious beliefs, marriage has lost it's importance. Women in the U.S. can get jobs and take care of themselves without a male. I think that has a lot to do with it. Also in our society, we are extremely selfish. This "it's all about me" attitude is killing marriages and family.
